The most common and most likely theory is that these Chihuahuas have descended from the Techichi that was favored and preferred by Mexico's Toltec civilization to become their companion dogs.

This dog breed does not specify any standards especially with its height, as it has many variations compared to other dog breeds. Generally, the Chihuahua's height would range from 6-10 inches, however, some of these dogs can grow tall and reach up to 12-15 inches. The standard weight for these dogs range from 4-7 pounds but if they are allowed to become overweight or if they have larger structures, then they could weigh up to 10 pounds or more.
